garden annexe, 31a southdown road, horndean

The client approached HRP to design a new garden annexe, to replace an existing railway carriage within the rear garden of the property, which formed the existing dwelling upon the site dating back to the 1930’s.

Although the annexe was now ancillary to a new dwelling constructed upon the site, a formal Planning permission was required for a replacement dwelling, to maintain what was a complex planning situation which would allow for the new annexe to be utilised as a separate dwelling in the years to come.

HRP succeeded in obtaining the required Permissions also overcoming the sensitive environmental challenges of the site, to achieve a self contained annexe to suit the clients brief.

The annexe was completed during late 2010.
