proposed rear extension and internal alterations, marmion road, southsea

The project involved the partial demolition of an ā€˜Lā€™ shaped Victorian property within a conservation area. The extension was to provide a new dining, kitchen and utility area within a ground floor rear extension.

Excellent use of daylight via the use of bi-fold doors and rooflights achieved a contemporary solution to the problem. The solution allowed natural light to enter into the existing retained building while also achieving exceptional results within the extension.

The ground floor extension opens onto a small rear courtyard, and the scope of works also included for the internal alterations of the retained building and also for the replacement of windows to achieve the precise requirements of working within the conservation area.

The project was completed in November of 2010.
